I’ve heard of this nice town called “Uppsala” which is very close to Stockholm and actually closer to Arlanda than the capital is, and where things and buildings are cheap during summer… Apparently they have cake, too.

To those who think it sounds too serious: It’s not meant to be. Or rather, it becomes whatever we want it to be. And the schedule for this will not be anything like 10 hours a day with no breaks. The simple fact is that some of the greatest moments of NMS so far has been things like this (Nifflas and Cactus showing their stuff, Petri giving a talk about game design, etc). And since I think everyone has interesting things to show, there’s no reasons not to.

Also about location: The idea is to have the event move around as much as possible so that the traveling expenses are spread out. For those who don’t know: it’s been once in Skövde and once in Malmö, there’s no tradition to it. The trick for getting it to happen close to where you live is to help find and secure a location. I’d say that Stockholm or Gothenburg is the next logical place (it’s certainly great for international visitors) but it’s hard to find a place there.

I’d sort of like to go this year, though I can’t make it if it’s the 1st to 4th (collides with Peace & Love!). So I vote for the later date.

I personally favor the latter of the proposed dates.

Also, I support the whole setup for the gathering. However, I think the bring-a-presentation could be more or less a REQUIREMENT to participate altogether.

I was a bit skeptical at first to this format but seeing the potential topics I think it sounds like it could be really interesting and fun!

I would prefer 10th to 13th, but I can probably come either way.
